as i mentioned last week, i bought a lot of cd's at Amoeba Records in SF while on my trip. Amoeba also occasionally has free live performances when performers are in town. when i lived in sf, i saw fantastic plastic machine do a dj set at the Amoeba on Haight street. since i played some m.i.a. today, here is a video of her performing at the Amoeba in Berkeley:
