the new groove armada album came out this week! i was excited to get it and was looking forward to playing it on the show... until i listened to it. its okay, but definitely different than what they've done before. and in my opinion, not as good. i did find an interview with them that confirmed that:

the band has taken their songwriting in an unexpected and original direction. "We could've knocked out an album of reggae-influenced house bangers and a couple of chill-out tunes, and that would've been a much easier life," explains Andy. "But we needed a new challenge. Neither of us was interested in just repeating ourselves."

so anyway, like i said, its still okay. here is the video for what i think is considered the leading single on the cd. i guess its really the vocals that annoy me:

i played funk instrumentals almost the whole second hour. i may have overdone that. but i like them. also played from 2 fabriclive cds and 2 dj kicks cds.
