I gave away another 4 pairs of tickets today to the dj shadow, cut chemist, kid koala concert on Tuesday. I think I had more callers for this ticket giveaway than any other time I've given tickets away. Maybe it means more people are listening to my show than in the past, or maybe it just means its going to be a cool concert! :-) I'll hand out some show fliers while I'm there, maybe meet some of the people I gave tickets too. Play list - 01/17/2008 - MLK Tribute
This coming Monday is Martin Luther King Jr. day. Rather than play excerpts of his speeches (which I considered), I decided that for the first hour of today's show I would play music that I thought the Reverend would approve of. Songs about racism, about standing up for your rights, about love and unity. Including this classic song with a classic video.....Fight the Power. What a great video. Flavor Flav and Chuck D are awesome, and so are their soldier backup dancers, and all the high-top fade haircuts in the crowd.

Play list - 01/10/2008
One of the things we got for Christmas at our house is Guitar Hero III. Last week I played a song from it: Paint it Black. This week I played another: Metallica's One. But the version I played of One was by Rodrigo y Gabriela. And I also played a lullaby version of Enter Sandman.
I got a call from a listener (Tom) who says that he has a box load of records, tapes, and CD's from India that he's going to donate to the station for me. Yes! I hate tapes though. I got rid of all mine 3 years ago. But as my grandpa used to say ALL the time, "Beggars can't be choosers".
Thanks to Pat for reminding me to post this video of The Dolly Song by Holly Dolly, from the EuroHit40 I played today. I love this song, and I love dancing donkeys with umbrellas.
